Services

Five services, one method. Techniques are chosen for the presentation in front of me after a thorough assessment, so most sessions blend several of these rather than sticking to one.

Remedial Massage Therapy

Remedial Massage Therapy is a comprehensive, assessment-based approach to the treatment and management of muscular pain, tension, soft tissue dysfunction and restricted movement. Rather than providing a general massage, treatment is guided by a thorough clinical assessment to identify the areas and contributing factors that may be influencing your symptoms and movement.

Each session begins with a detailed health and injury history and physical assessment. Depending on your presentation, this may include postural and movement analysis, range of motion, muscle strength and activation testing, palpation, functional movement assessment and relevant orthopaedic testing. This allows treatment to be directed towards your individual presentation rather than focusing solely on the area where symptoms are felt.

The aim is to provide targeted and individualised care that addresses your current symptoms while also considering the movement patterns, physical demands and contributing factors that may be affecting your recovery, mobility and overall function.

Treatment may include

  • Remedial and deep tissue techniques
  • Myofascial techniques
  • Trigger point therapy
  • Dry needling
  • Cupping
  • Joint mobilisation
  • Muscle energy techniques
  • Stretching and targeted movement strategies

May assist with

  • Muscular pain and tension
  • Restricted mobility
  • Postural and occupational strain
  • Sports and training-related discomfort
  • Muscle imbalances
  • Overuse injuries
  • General musculoskeletal dysfunction

Myotherapy

Myotherapy is a comprehensive, evidence-informed approach to the assessment, treatment and management of musculoskeletal pain, injury and movement dysfunction. Rather than focusing solely on the area of pain, myotherapy aims to identify the underlying and contributing factors that may be influencing your symptoms, movement and overall function.

Each session begins with a thorough clinical assessment to develop a clearer understanding of your presentation. This may include a detailed health and injury history, postural and movement assessment, range of motion, muscle strength and activation testing, joint assessment, palpation, functional movement screening and relevant orthopaedic or neurological testing where indicated.

Clinical findings are used to develop an individualised treatment and management plan based on your presentation, lifestyle, physical demands and goals, with the aim of reducing symptoms, improving movement and function, and supporting long-term recovery.

Treatment may include

  • Soft tissue therapy
  • Trigger point techniques
  • Joint mobilisation
  • Dry needling
  • Muscle energy techniques
  • Stretching
  • Movement retraining
  • Corrective exercise and patient education

May assist with

  • Muscle and joint pain
  • Neck and lower back pain
  • Sports and overuse injuries
  • Postural and movement dysfunction
  • Restricted mobility
  • Muscle imbalances
  • Nerve-related symptoms

Rehabilitative Sports Massage Therapy

Rehabilitative Sports Massage Therapy combines targeted hands-on treatment, movement assessment and rehabilitation strategies to support recovery from sports-related injuries, physical overload and training demands. It is suitable for athletes and active individuals looking to restore movement, improve physical function and return to their chosen activity.

Treatment begins with a detailed assessment of your injury, movement and physical demands. This may involve reviewing your injury and training history, assessing joint range of motion, muscle strength and flexibility, movement patterns, areas of muscular restriction and relevant functional or sport-specific movements. This helps identify factors that may be contributing to pain, reduced performance or recurring problems.

Where rehabilitation is required, treatment may be combined with corrective exercise, strength and mobility work, movement retraining and progressive return-to-sport strategies to help rebuild capacity and prepare the body for the demands of training and competition.

Whether you are managing an injury, returning to sport or experiencing ongoing problems related to training, the focus is to restore efficient movement, improve function, support recovery and reduce the likelihood of recurring issues so you can return to the activities that matter to you.

Treatment may include

  • Sports and remedial massage
  • Soft tissue and myofascial techniques
  • Trigger point therapy
  • Dry needling
  • Cupping
  • Joint mobilisation
  • Muscle energy techniques and PNF stretching
  • Targeted mobility work

May assist with

  • Sports and overuse injuries
  • Training-related pain and overload
  • Muscle strains and sprains
  • Tendinopathy and tendon pain
  • Running-related injuries
  • Return-to-sport rehabilitation
  • Sports recovery

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a gentle, specialised treatment designed to support the natural movement of lymphatic fluid throughout the body. Using light, rhythmic and targeted techniques, MLD aims to promote lymphatic flow, assist with the management of swelling and fluid retention, and support the body's natural recovery processes.

Treatment is tailored to your individual needs. Your practitioner will discuss your health history and current concerns before treatment to determine whether Manual Lymphatic Drainage is appropriate for you.

Benefits

  • Encourages lymphatic flow
  • Reduces swelling
  • Supports immune function
  • Promotes healing
  • Improves circulation

MLD may help with

  • Swelling and fluid retention
  • Feelings of heaviness or puffiness
  • Recovery following certain procedures or injuries, when medically appropriate
  • Inflammation
  • Injury recovery
  • Chronic oedema

Dry Needling

Dry needling uses fine, single-use needles inserted into a trigger point or band of tight muscle to help release tension that has not responded to hands-on techniques alone. It is used within a treatment where clinical assessment supports it, alongside soft tissue work, movement and rehabilitation. It is not used as a treatment on its own.

Whether needling is appropriate is discussed with you before it is used, and treatment can be delivered effectively without it if you would prefer not to.

May assist with

  • Persistent trigger points
  • Muscular tension and tightness
  • Restricted movement
  • Overuse and training-related muscle pain
